The first American Mardi Gras took place on March 3, 1699, when French explorers landed near present-day New Orleans, Louisiana. We continue this tradition with the talents of Peter Swan and his Mardi Gras Celebration Band. Pete Swan has gathered a special group of musicians to put on an amazing afternoon of music ranging from Traditional to Dixieland to Comtemporary New Orleans music. Music, merriment and a light repast will top off the afternoon. The Mardi Gras Party follows this concert in the Murphey Gallery.
